We stayed 2 nights in the hotel and we have loved every minute of it! The beautiful clean swimming pool and the garden was very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. In the evening a short stroll to the beach with many restaurants! Breakfast very good and served next to the pool!! And most of all the very nice Helena! And very friendly sons!! Very good value for money but not easy to find (little sign) The rooms basic but very clean and with a little welcoming gift!! We are coming back! Family Devos |

We've been there in September 2008 and it was our first time in Crete.
We were welcomed heartily by the owner and her son. Seems they have already awaited us (our flight was delayed) because they asked if we got lost on the way from the airport to Matala which is about a 1 1/2 hours drive.
Our room was not big but very clean aswell as the bathroom. There was enough space for our clothings and stuff.
They have a small pool with a fantastic enviroment there and it's good enough to cool you down after a hot day's hike.
The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Matala therefore it's very quiet there. It's not a hotel to party ;) It's about a 300 m walk to the village of Matala, the beach and the caves. It's a small hotel with about 15 rooms with a little balcony or terrace in front of each room.
Usually you have to check out until 12 pm. Our flight was at night and we asked the owner if we could leave our stuff at the reception which was ok for her. Additional to that she invited us to use her shower before we leave if we wanna spend our last day at the beach. I was very surprised. I never had such an offer before and we were happy we could use it.

We can thoroughly recommend Dimitris Villa as a place to stay. Eleni is the perfect hostess and works very hard to ensure guests are happy and comfortable. The position in the village is perfect with stunning views all day ( & night) long. We look forward to returning as soon as we can.
